To explain
at least some of my reasons for devoting a certain amount of my "time, talent, and treasure" to
this project, I will recount a real life story that you may remember reading or hearing about on the news back in
May of 2002. Imagine for a moment that you were there:

It's Sunday morning, about 7:45 a.m. You are standing along a river bank, near a bridge, enjoying the early morning
fresh air and sunrise. You see two men in a fishing boat quickly cruising up the river at about 70 m.p.h. - the loud
purr of the outboard engine echoing in the still morning air.

All of a sudden you hear a large, thundering "BOOM", and feel the ground shake under you. An eerie silence gives
you goose-bumps, and the distinct feeling that something bad has happened nearby. Just about that time you
suddenly see a huge splash and a big wall of water rise up out of the river, as a big cloud of smoke and dust appear
all around, and above, the area of the splash. You notice that the two fisherman in the boat stop just down the river
from the bridge. Within just a few seconds you catch a glimpse of a large object falling into the water as another
huge splash and wall of water rise up - then another, and another! "What the heck was that? What is happening!?",
you think to yourself - maybe even out loud.

As you look up, and focus in on the highway bridge crossing over the river, you realize what has happened, and
what is still happening. A long section of the bridge and highway, approximately 500-600 feet in length, has
collapsed into the river! There are two barges in the river, attached to a towboat, and a part of the bridge has fallen
onto the barges! You realize the towboat must have rammed the barges into a bridge pillar, or pillars, causing the
huge section of the bridge to come crashing down. As you are trying to comprehend and believe exactly what you
are seeing, another incredible site appears, as you watch a semi-tractor and trailer driving off the damaged bridge,
and careening about 60 feet down to the water below! An even bigger splash and fountain of water than the few
previous ones rises up out of the river water.

It suddenly dawns on you that the splashes you saw seconds before were vehicles that were traveling over the river
on the bridge, and driving off into the river! You realize that since the collapsed part of the bridge is past the top, or
highest part of the bridge, the people driving down the highway and onto the bridge cannot see that part of the
bridge is completely gone, until it is too late to stop, and they plummet 60 feet down off the bridge and into the river
- possibly to their death! You see the look of sheer terror on some of their faces, as their cars and trucks flip,
tumble, or roll into the deep water below.
the boat that has stopped just below the collapsed bridge, as the two fisherman look
with utter disbelief at what is happening. Another car drives perilously off the bridge, then another, and another!
Someone from down below the bridge screams out in a haunting voice, "Somebody stop the cars!! Somebody
stop them!!", but the horror continues for what seems like forever, as your heart is pounding in your chest, and
your mind is almost numb with the surreal disbelief of what you are witnessing. You try to think of what you can
possibly do to stop this terrible disaster, but you are temporarily paralyzed with the shock of what is happening.

Finally, you snap out of the shock and amazement and decide to climb up onto the highway and try to warn any
drivers coming toward the bridge. Just then, you get a first-hand view of a big truck pulling a horse trailer, as it
drives off the end of the bridge and disappears over the edge! You hear the pitiful, whinnying cry of the horses as
they fall the 60 feet down to the water and into the depths of the river. The sad echo of the pleading voice
continues to ring in your ears, "Somebody stop the cars!! Somebody stop them!!!"

As you get close to reaching the highway, wondering if cars will even stop for you, you notice the driver of the
boat in the river has pulled up a flare gun, and with a heroic act of steady, determined focus, he aims it up toward
the bridge, holds it as steady as possible for a second or two then pulls the trigger.

As you watch the flare head toward the bridge you see another semi-tractor trailer coming up over the bridge,
quickly heading towards the 500 or so feet of missing bridge!

Miraculously, as if guided by God himself, the flare that the fisherman had released from his gun heads straight for
the semi-drivers windshield! A direct hit!! As you see the flare bounce off the semi's windshield, you notice the
totally confused and frightened look of the driver, as he locks up the brakes, wheels, and tires on the
tractor-trailer rig. As he turns the front wheels, the screeching, squealing rear tires cause the back end of the
tractor-trailer to slide sideways, blocking both lanes of the highway crossing the bridge, as it continues toward the
edge of the 60 foot drop off. The front wheels of the semi begin to slide off the edge, but finally, the whole huge
rig comes to a complete stop - the front wheel hanging off the edge! The shaken driver is then able to carefully
and nervously back the truck away from the edge of the collapsed bridge, as the cars behind him, and along side
him also come to a safe stop.

Sounds like a "made-for-TV" movie, doesn't it? Unfortunately, it really happened - May 26th, 2002, near
Webber Falls, Oklahoma, although many
wished it was only a movie.
You again notice
is that the drivers in the other vehicles, on the bridge, and coming up to the bridge
behind the jack-knifed semi, quickly realized the danger and were able to stop in time, saving who knows how
many lives of the people coming up the highway behind them, and stopping the continuation of the still
unbelievable nightmare.

The bad news is that ten different vehicles went into the river that day, fourteen people plummeted to their death,
and several others were injured, and many, many lives have been affected since.

Why did I share this terrible story? To also share something that the greatest teacher I've ever known taught me.
This teacher who has had such an impact on my life also happens to be the best friend I've ever had in my life.
Some of you may know him personally. Some of you may not yet know him, but hopefully will very soon.

This greatest of friends, and most influential of teachers, sometimes uses a rather frustrating, sometimes confusing,
but always enlightening, way of teaching me things I need to know. He uses parables. I'll make it easy on you
though. I'll clearly explain the real-life "parable" above, and the message I hope to portray by using it:

1. The highway in the story represents life itself - the road that each and every one of us is traveling down right at
this very moment.

2. The bridge represents the current reality, and our current situation in our life. It is that place - that "bridge" -
between where we have already been in our life, and where we are headed - our final goal, or destination.
Sometimes we can't see the road on the other side of the bridge.

3. The towboat and the two barges that rammed the pillars of the bridge, causing it to collapse, represent certain
specific beliefs, habits, attitudes, and world views that many people have in the world, and especially in our
country today, as well as those throughout the generations who have caused the "barge to ram the bridge" so to
speak.

Sometimes these beliefs, habits, attitudes and the associated decisions we make can have a tremendous negative
impact on the lives of many other people traveling down the "highway" of life, trying to cross over that bridge to
true freedom, and our ultimate destination. For a closer look at just a few of these infamous people, attitudes and
beliefs systems,
click here - but please return and learn more!

4. The collapsed section of the bridge represents the section of society, and of our everyday lives, that are at risk
of collapsing - causing us, and possibly many others, to careen off into the dangerous, possibly deadly, depths of
the river below.

5. The river (in this instance - NOT in the rest of the website, mind you!) represents the dangerous, rapidly, and
sometimes very strongly flowing current of certain negative, modern thoughts, ideals, and beliefs in the world
today. It is that insanity in the world today, called the "culture of death" by certain prophets of our own generation,
that threatens to quickly sweep people away, and pull them under water - taking away the last breath of anyone it
can catch unexpectedly, like the people driving speedily toward the collapsed bridge, completely oblivious to the
danger that awaits them!

And last, but not least:

6. The flare hitting the windshield of the semi represents people like me, the whole message of Truth contained in
"The Three Steps to the Fountain", and many of the other links contained within these pages (Note: the most
reliable, trustworthy links marked with asterisks *).

7. The windshield that the flare bounces off of, and the startled person sitting in the driver's seat of the semi, could
be you, or anyone else who reads this message. Please remember that, like the driver of the semi in the story
above, sometimes it may seem like someone is trying to interfere in your life and cause problems, when they're
really just trying to alert you to a potentially impending disaster. We all need to watch out for the "warning flares"
in our life!

One such warning flare in our society today is the sad, shameful, and alarming statistics about how much conflict
there is in the world. Many people fighting and arguing with one another, or not communicating at all. Couples
growing farther and farther apart. Marriages, families, communities, and whole nations in turmoil, chaos,
collapsing, or near destruction. Nations trying to wipe other nations off the globe - sometimes, sadly, even "in the
name of God", "Allah", or whoever or whatever else they can blame it on! The list goes on and on.

As just one example, let's consider the issue of freedom - in particular, religious freedom:
Click here to see what is
happening to innocent people in certain countries who simply want to live out their religious beliefs freely in their
daily lives.

And what does all this mean for the world today, and for the future? Generations upon generations of confused
people struggling to find meaning, purpose, hope, and peace in life. People desperately seeking answers to life's
seemingly most "unanswerable" questions. People searching for something that they don't even realize exists! And
what happens when people don't get what they most desperately need? Depression, anxiety, loneliness, despair,
sickness, disease, anger, hatred, conflict, wars - the list goes on and on and on. All we have to do is read the
news, or watch it on TV, and we can get a very real reminder of what kind of problems there are in the world.

And, on the brighter side, just a few moments of thought and reflection on what the root causes of all these things
are, can also reveal something to us - if our minds and hearts are open to the truth of the matter.

I am not saying that
all of the world's  problems, including all of our health problems, are caused by a rejection of
"The Truth" that exists. On the other hand, there is ample evidence to indicate there is
oftentimes a clear
connection between our faith, our health, and many other areas of conflict, or peace, in life. For just one example,
click here for information on scientific studies on the effects of religious beliefs on your health, as well as the health
of our nation!

*Disclaimer: Other than the references and results of the studies on that particular web page, I cannot
recommend any other links available from that page - especially if they contradict the information contained on the
rest of
this website, particularly "The Fountain".

These are just some of the many, many reasons that there is such a desperate need for solutions to so many of
life's problems... Answers to many of life's seemingly "unanswerable" questions.

And this is where the "Three Steps to the Fountain" comes in.  What I propose in these pages is that even though
all the problems I mentioned above can be very discouraging, depressing, confusing, scary, frustrating, angering,
etc., there is a very happy ending to all of this! There really are answers to the biggest problems we are faced with
in this world!

Let me clarify that I am not proposing that
all of these answers are available on this website, or the links
contained within - although I will state that very many, possibly even
most of the answers can be found
somewhere within these pages! At the same time, I also humbly consider this website a mere portal, a gateway, a
sign along the roadway, an arrow pointing "the way" to the ultimate, best, most complete answers to the biggest,
deepest, most troublesome questions men, woman and children have ever had throughout the history of the world
- and yes, even today!

I know, it sounds too good to be true, which usually means it is, right? Wouldn't it be really great if just once, this
was as true as it sounds unbelievable!? I tell you what, I will give you a 100% guarantee that if you read through
(listen, watch) this website and the attached links on a regular basis - just a few minutes a day - with a mind and
heart sincerely open to the idea that an
"Absolute Truth" really does exist, your life will soon be changed for
the better in the most important ways you could ever imagine - or your money back! Now how's that for a deal!?

I know, that was a cheap shot, but seriously, please ask, pray, even demand the truth! It really IS available, and
you have every right to it! As you ask yourself the age-old question "What is truth, and how can I know for
sure?", please enjoy browsing the many helpful resources throughout these pages.

Last, but not least, if you know me personally, please feel free to ask me in person about what I believe, and why.
I am more than happy to share my thoughts on all these things - as time allows - with those who are truly open to
them.
